These are two pieces that both started with Richard Parrish’s Tapestry technique. I started with a large sheet of the flipped strips using the diamond pattern, and made this slumped square shallow dish.
I sawed off the end pieces and edges to make the square. The second piece emerged from combining triangle pattern bars I designed with similar colors, and murrini, framed as a wall hanging. Ahh, the incredible versatility and creative possibilities of glass.
