Working with Earth Tones

My latest pieces include my first mosaic, spreading my wings from kiln formed glass.  I took "Mosaic Tapestry" with Bonnie Fitzgerald at Glen Echo Park, channeling the inspirational style of Laurel Skye.  I created the border with greens, golds and browns.  The center bead is a lampwork bead I bought years ago and finally found the perfect place for it, in the center of this mosaic.  The tapestries are based on the tradition of carpets of Rajasthan, Afghanistan, with cheerful colors and geometric patterns. I also turned to earthy tones in the flow piece, using greens, browns, and creams, in a class I took with Nancy Weisser at Weisser Studios.  Fun exploring new techniques and both Bonnie and Nancy are such great teachers.
