Honoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg

This is my glass tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her ubiquitous collar surrounds the edge of the piece, with an eight pointed star in the center. The outer ring is made of 40 slices of one pattern bar, and the Star is made of 40 slices of another. Lots of murrini in between.

There is great historic significance in many religions and cultures for the numbers 40 and 8. 40, and the root number 4, symbolize transformation, escape from bondage, redemption and salvation, new life, dignity, pragmatism, a sense of security.

The eight pointed star is a symbol of resurrection, interconnectedness, balance, hope, protection, fate, destiny and justice - a law of cause and effect, harmony and cosmic order.  Divine justice.
